When Photoroom is the better pick
You edit individual photos every day on your phone, you want social-media templates and design tools, or you live inside an interactive editor. Photoroom is genuinely good at that, and pretending otherwise would insult your intelligence.
When MerchLoom wins
You process photos in batches a few times a month, not daily — so a subscription is paying rent on an empty apartment. You need the output for your store, so a free tier that forbids commercial use doesn't help you.
